Chris Powell: Defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers "a hard one to swallow"

Chris Powell admits that the 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers is a "hard one to swallow" for his Huddersfield Town side.

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell has admitted that it is tough to accept the 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite matching the visitors for long spells of the game, Huddersfield were comfortably beaten by their clinical opponents, and Powell found it difficult to criticise his players after the game.

"It's a hard one to swallow," the Terriers boss told reporters. "I'm led to believe we created over 30 chances but we gifted two of the goals - the first one is a mistake and he finished it in a flash, and the second one an own-goal, which took the wind out of our sails.

"They're a good side - they have some good players who have played at a higher level - but we more than matched them.

"It's a funny one. They could have actually scored one or two more on the counter-attack."

Huddersfield slipped to 15th in the Championship table with the loss.
