Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner "excited" about Spurs clash

Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner says that he is "excited" about the prospect of the Terriers testing themselves against Tottenham Hotspur.

Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner has revealed that he is excited to see whether his players can take "the next step" against Tottenham Hotspur.

The club have recorded nine points from six games since their promotion to the Premier League, but the Terriers are yet to face one of the so-called "top-six" teams in the division.

However, Wagner is not daunted by the challenge of facing the free-scoring North Londoners, and is keen to see whether his squad are capable of improving the level of their performances.

The 45-year-old told reporters: "This is the first time we meet an opponent with this quality. It's the next step and we are excited to see if we can make the step.

"We will have the same group with us from Burnley. No new injuries and no-one has returned from their rehabilitation. Our one small advantage against Tottenham is our supporters. They have to be behind us from the first whistle.

"I think our players have adapted to the Premier League and they have shown they are capable. We have deserved all nine points."

Huddersfield will move ahead of Spurs in the standings should they emerge victorious at the John Smith's Stadium.
