Jermaine Beckford's goal gives Huddersfield Town a crucial 1-0 lead against Millwall at half time.

Huddersfield Town have taken a big step towards an important victory by securing a 1-0 half-time lead against Millwall.

Jermaine Beckford missed an early chance for the hosts when he headed over Oliver Norwood's cross in the fourth minute.

Millwall goalkeeper David Forde was forced into action just minutes later as he pushed another Beckford header away from goal.

James Henry was inches away from opening the scoring but the visiting midfielder struck the crossbar with his free kick.

Beckford recovered from his earlier misses to break the deadlock in the 36th minute as he dispossessed Danny Shittu before slotting the ball home.
