Edinburgh clubs Hearts and Hibernian are keen to sign St Mirren midfielder John McGinn, according to reports.

Hearts and Hibernian have entered the race to sign St Mirren midfielder John McGinn.

McGinn is leaving the club after his contract expired, and the Daily Record claims that the two Edinburgh rivals are keen on securing his signature.

The 20-year-old has previously stated that he has ambitions to play in England, with Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United also believed to be in talks with McGinn.

St Mirren are hoping for £270,000 in compensation.
