Groningen come from behind to beat Go Ahead Eagles

Go Ahead Eagles blow a two-goal second-half lead to lose 3-2 against Groningen in their opening Eredivisie match of the new season.

Groningen have come from two goals down to beat Go Ahead Eagles 3-2 at Adelaarshorst in the Eredivisie.

Alex Schalk scored the first goal of the afternoon for the hosts after 18 minutes, and that lead was doubled in the second half when Lesley de Sa found the top corner to put last season's 13th-placed side in command.

Four minutes later, the Groningen comeback began courtesy of Tjaronn Chery's 58th-minute goal, before Jarchinio Antonia picked out Michael de Leeuw for his second assist of the match, with his teammate making no mistake to level the contest.

With three minutes of the game remaining, Jarchinio Antonia fired the away side into the lead for the first time, and Groningen were able to hold out to secure three opening-day points in remarkable style.
