Getafe see off Real Zaragoza

Getafe give their European hopes a boost with a 2-0 win at home to Real Zaragoza in La Liga.

Getafe have given their European hopes a boost with a 2-0 win at home to Real Zaragoza in La Liga.

The victory has moved Luis Garcia Plaza's side to within two points of the top six in the table.

Adrian Colunga put the home side ahead on 21 minutes when he converted from close range.

Zaragoza had a man sent off on the hour as Glenn Loovens picked up his second yellow card of the night and they were punished immediately as Sergio Escudero fired in the resulting free kick.

However, Getafe also finished the game with 10 men when Pedro Leon received his second booking for a handball on 63 minutes.
