Volendam vs. Heracles (Saturday, 3.30pm)

Bottom-of-the-table FC Volendam welcome Heracles Almelo to the Kras Stadion in the Eredivisie on Saturday.

The hosts remain the only side in the Dutch top flight who are yet to get off the mark, with four defeats from four so far.

We say: FC Volendam 0-2 Heracles

Volendam are struggling and have been outclassed in their previous three games and could find it tough again against a side showing great form in attack.

Heracles will look to bounce back after a disappointing result against Utrecht and will not want to be the first side to drop points against Volendam this season.

NEC Nijmegen welcome FC Utrecht to the Goffertstadion on Saturday evening for an Eredivisie encounter.

In a clash between 13th and 15th, the two sides would have hoped for a better start, and failure to win again could see them slip ominously closer to the drop zone.

Under new management, Utrecht took a positive step with a fine win on the road last week, and they may do so again here with the changes Jans has come in and made.

The hosts have shown no real consistency, already losing three of their opening five games, and that run could continue here.

Newly-promoted Almere City welcome Dutch heavyweights PSV Eindhoven to the Yanmar Stadion in the Eredivisie on Saturday.

The visitors are the team to beat so far, topping the Eredivisie table despite still having a game in hand.

We say: Almere City 0-4 PSV Eindhoven

PSV should easily bounce back from their disappointing display in midweek by beating one of the favourites for relegation.

Having already lost 4-1 here against Twente and 6-1 at Feyenoord, there is not much down for Almere, who are expected to fall to a fifth defeat from six.

Heerenveen vs. Excelsior (Saturday, 8.00pm)

SBV Excelsior travel to Friesland in Northern Netherlands to face Heerenveen at the Abe Lenstra Stadion in the Eredivisie on Saturday.

Both teams come into the weekend tied on six points after five matches, marooned in mid-table.

Despite some recent head-to-heads producing low-scoring encounters, both sides have been involved in goal-laden matches this season.

Excelsior have been the early draw specialists, while Heerenveen will be happy to arrest a current three-game losing streak, so a close game could be on the cards.
