Everton manager Roberto Martinez identifies transfer targets

Everton manager Roberto Martinez reveals that he has identified the players he wants to sign for next season.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that he has already identified the players that he wants to sign this summer.

The Spaniard guided the Toffees to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League table last term in what was his first campaign in charge at Goodison Park.

While Martinez is focused on bolstering his squad over the coming months, he insists that the club is in no rush to conclude any deals.

"We've identified the players and now it's about making sure we can get them to join," he told EvertonTV.

"It's very much an important period, but it's not one where we need to panic. We don't have to make decisions just to bring numbers into the club.

"Everything has to be measured and everything needs to be taken on the understanding that bringing the wrong player into this special group of players that we have could have a very negative effect."

Martinez joined Everton in June 2013 following a four-year spell with Wigan Athletic.
