Lee Trundle has said that Roberto Martinez's ability to talk to players will make him a successful manager at Everton.
The former Wigan Athletic manager, who was a teammate and manager of Trundle at Swansea City, is replacing David Moyes at Goodison Park.
The striker told Everton's website: "It's his man management and the way he speaks to people.
"There would be lads that weren't in the team [at Swansea] and they would go in to see him. They would be unhappy but then come out of the dressing room feeling like they were the best player in the world with the way that he had spoken and treated them. His man management is different class.
"It's his knowledge of football as well. When you sit and talk to him you have respect because you realise that when he goes home he doesn't just sit about in the house. You sit and think that he must put the hours in to have that knowledge. That's why I'm pleased to have him at this club."
Martinez guided Wigan to FA Cup victory last season.
