Preview: England vs. Germany

England will play host to Germany at Wembley on Tuesday. Here, Sports Mole previews the encounter.

The Football Association will round off their 150th anniversary celebrations on Tuesday evening when England play host to rivals Germany at Wembley.

Roy Hodgson's men go into the clash having been brought back down to earth on Friday night by Chile following their recent success in qualifying for next year's World Cup finals.

The England coach is expected to make changes for the visit of the Germans, with Joe Hart likely to be reinstated in goal following Fraser Forster's debut against the South Americans.

Captain Steven Gerrard has also been tipped to win his fitness battle, while Andros Townsend, Phil Jagielka and Ashley Cole could also return to the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Joachim Low has confirmed that Mesut Ozil, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and captain Philip Lahm will play no part in London.

Those omissions should see the likes of Marco Reus, Roman Weidenfaller and Marcel Schmelzer deputise.

Midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira will also be absent because of injuries.

The Germans have won the last two matches between the two nations on English shores.
