England winger Andros Townsend has insisted that he was not offended by Roy Hodgson's allegedly racist joke at half time of Tuesday's match against Poland.
Hodgson referenced a NASA space race joke during the break, urging Chris Smalling to pass Andros Townsend the ball whenever possible by using the phrase "feed the monkey".
The England boss has since apologised for the comments, but Townsend insists that there was no need for him to do so.
"I don't know what all this fuss is about. No offence was meant and none was taken! It's not even news worthy!" Townsend wrote on Twitter.
Wayne Rooney has also defended Hodgson over the comments, claiming that the veteran manager has done nothing wrong.
