England manager Roy Hodgson has refused to confirm whether he will play Luke Shaw during Wednesday's friendly with Denmark at Wembley Stadium.
The Southampton defender is in the senior squad for the first time as the Three Lions prepare for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
Despite Shaw's impressive performances at club level this season, Hodgson is unsure whether the full-back will take to the pitch tomorrow night.
"We brought Luke Shaw here because his performances merited it and it would be nice to get him on the field, but I don't want to make any promises," he told reporters.
"Ahead of the World Cup, I think the main challenges are to select a well-balanced squad and make sure that when the whistle blows in Manaus that we feel 100% ready for the challenge ahead."
England begin their World Cup campaign on June 14 when they face Italy.
