Former England star Terry Butcher has admitted he feels now manager Roy Hodgson will struggle to emerge from Euro 2012 with any credit regardless of his team's performance.
Butcher, currently manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the SPL, told the Sunday Mirror: "Hodgson has a thankless task this summer - he needs to learn the job on the run and also has to appease his bosses and the English public at the same time."
Hodgson has won his first two games in charge and will be hoping to prove his doubters wrong beginning on June 11 against France.
