The Spaniard has made 21 appearances for the League One outfit, the last of which came on December 28.
However, as a result of his low number of outings, Rovers have decided to cancel the 24-year-old's contract at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The former Real Madrid trainee was manager Paul Dickov's first signing in charge of Donny back in 2013.
