Crystal Palace are reportedly hoping to hijack Queens Park Rangers' loan move for West Ham United forward Mauro Zarate.
The Argentine has all but sealed a January switch to Loftus Road after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms with relegation-threatened Rangers.
However, they are yet to finalise the deal after attempting to lower the terms of the loan and, according to The Mirror, Palace are ready to capitalise on their dithering.
The 27-year-old looks almost certain to leave the Hammers this month after a public spat with manager Sam Allardyce, who claims that he is "not good enough" for West Ham.
He joined the East Londoners from Velez Sarsfield in the summer and has netted twice in seven Premier League outings so far.
