Report: Former Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak on Aston Villa radar

Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak is reportedly on the radar of Aston Villa after the Australian was stripped of the Eagles captaincy by Alan Pardew.

Former Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak has emerged as a transfer target for Aston Villa, according to reports.

The 32-year-old was stripped of the Eagles captaincy last week after he struggled to hold down a regular spot in Alan Pardew's starting XI last season.

According to ESPN, a number of clubs have been monitoring Jedinak's situation at Palace, but Roberto di Matteo has moved to try to bring the Australian to Villa Park.

The veteran midfielder has been at Selhurst Park since 2011 and has scored 10 goals in 178 appearances for the club.
