Roy Hodgson is under increasing pressure to turn Crystal Palace's results around after another defeat against Bournemouth on Wednesday, according to a report.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson's position at the club has reportedly become extremely insecure, following defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday.

The Eagles were beaten 2-0 at home by Andoni Iraola's side, leading to a chorus of boos greeting both the second goal and the final whistle at Selhurst Park.

Palace have won just one of their last eight Premier League games, picking up only one point in their last four.

Those results leave Palace 14th on 16 points, a healthy distance away from the relegation zone, but stagnating in the middle of the bottom half.

The Telegraph claims that Hodgson will be in the dugout for their fixture with Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Saturday, but pressure is building on his position.

It states that there is no immediate plan to sack Hodgson, but there is also no certainty that he will see out his contract - which runs until the end of the season - unless results improve.

Hodgson caused some controversy within the Palace fanbase with comments he made when speaking in front of the Amazon Prime cameras after the defeat on Wednesday.

Following the defeat, Hodgson said: "The fact is that the expectations are high hence the boos. But the fact is the fans have been spoiled here in recent times.

"They are used to seeing us do very well at home and get good results, and this year we've not been able to do that." Hodgson added.

Fans were quick to point out that they have won just four home games in 14 months, and only 18 of Hodgson's last 64 home games in charge have ended in victory.

Amid the frustration and the boos, a bottle was also thrown in Hodgson's direction as he walked towards the tunnel after the game, with the police now investigating the incident.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of their clash with Liverpool at the weekend, Hodgson pleaded to the fans to continue showing their support for the side.

"We need the fans of Crystal Palace as we know them, because without them it would become really, really hard for us. The players need them, so I suppose my point to them, if I'm making any point at all, is, don't desert us, because it's a bad moment." Hodgson stated.

Palace do not have a great recent record against Liverpool though, failing to win any of the previous 14 meetings, as well as losing 7-0 at Selhurst Park back in 2020.
