Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has said that his side have an advantage over the Premier League's big clubs because they are not involved in multiple competitions.
The Eagles have moved up to eighth position in the table, two points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth and five behind fourth-placed Manchester United after Sunday's 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
Pardew has claimed that his team only playing league fixtures at the moment could help them to their highest ever Premier League finish come the end of the season.
"Our ambitions are modest," he told London 24. "We have no complications: no Europa League, no League Cup so the league programme is right at the top of our agenda.
"That helps us because all these big clubs have Europe to contend with."
