Alan Pardew: 'Pundits made their minds up about Mile Jedinak elbow'

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew criticises the media for 'making their minds up' about Mile Jedinak's elbow against West Ham, which saw the midfielder banned.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has hit out at the media for 'making their minds up' about Mile Jedinak's actions in his side's Premier League match against West Ham United on Saturday.

The Australian midfielder was today banned for four matches for aiming the point of his elbow into the side of Diafra Sakho's head during the Eagles' 3-1 weekend win at Upton Park.

The incident was not seen by the matchday officials, but the Football Association charged the 30-year-old with violent conduct after a panel of three former referees unanimously decided that Jedinak's action was worthy of a red card.

Pardew told BBC Sport ahead of his side's game against Southampton this evening: "Every pundit had made their minds up before it got to the FA so we were done.

"It's a shame because he is not like that but we have a good replacement in Joe Ledley.

"Southampton's season is on the line a little bit so we know it's going to be a tough game but we have good momentum so we are in good shape."

Palace currently sit 12th in the Premier League table.
