Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak has accepted a Football Association charge of violent conduct against him and will miss the club's next four games.
The Australian midfielder has been punished for aiming the point of his elbow into the side of West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho's head during Palace's 3-1 win at Upton Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
The incident was not seen by the matchday officials and the FA yesterday charged the 30-year-old with violent conduct after a panel of three former referees unanimously decided that Jedinak's action was worthy of a red card.
It was his first start for Palace since December 28, having returned from the Asia Cup in February with an ankle injury.
He has been hit with a four-game ban, receiving an additional game on top of the three-game violent conduct for it being his second red-card offence of the season.
He will miss tonight's game at Southampton and further fixtures at home to Queens Park Rangers, away at Stoke City and at home to Manchester City, meaning that he won't be able to feature again until April 11.
