Jamie Proctor fires Crawley Town to dramatic comeback

Jamie Proctor strikes twice in the final seven minutes as Crawley Town recover from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 against Coventry City.

Jamie Proctor struck twice in the final seven minutes to salvage a point for Crawley Town in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Coventry City at the Sixfields Stadium.

Steven Pressley's men looked set to move within four points of a playoff place in League One courtesy of goals from Andy Webster and a 82nd-minute strike from Franck Moussa.

However, Town hit back immediately through Proctor to reduce the deficit before the 21-year-old completed the comeback four minutes later.

The Sky Blues started much the better of the two teams without penetrating Town's defence, with Jordan Clarke and Carl Baker both trying their luck from distance to no avail.

The breakthrough came on 41 minutes when Andy Webster rose highest to nod home the opener.

John Gregory's men spurned two opportunities to draw level on the stroke of half time. Gary Alexander flashed wide of the target after getting on the end of a Mike Jones pass, before Matt Tubbs fired over the bar in the dying moments of the first half.

Webster turned provider in the final 10 minutes by heading into the path of Moussa, who fired home from close range to provide the hosts with a seemingly comfortable lead.

However, Proctor headed home a minute later to give Crawley a fighting chance before the youngster bagged his brace to complete the turnaround.

There was yet more drama to come. Moussa had a chance to snatch the points, but the 24-year-old fired over the crossbar as Gregory's troops held out for a point.
