Tony Mowbray calls for Coventry City consistency

Tony Mowbray hopes that Coventry City's 3-0 win over Shrewsbury Town will be the catalyst to help his side grow in confidence and become more consistent in the league.

Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray has acknowledged that his side must become more consistent if they are to earn League One promotion this term.

Since racking up three victories on the bounce at the start of the season, the Sky Blues have failed to win back-to-back league games.

However, after beating Shrewsbury Town 3-0 on the weekend to move into fifth place, Mowbray believes that City will now have the confidence to push on and add further points to the board in the coming weeks.

"It was a performance which should give everyone a lift and it was an important win," he is quoted as saying by Nuneaton News. "Those sort of performances keeps the confidence high around the club.

"I'd like to see us develop some consistency now and bring that sort of performance into the Yeovil Town [cup] game and Fleetwood next week. I've just said to the players that we should enjoy this performance though and enjoy the concentration levels.

"We had plenty of chances to score more goals and it could have been more. We fully warranted the win. We had a very clear penalty shout in the first minute as well but credit to them, they kept plugging away and we did really well to keep that clean sheet."

Adam Armstrong scored twice and Marc Antoine-Fortune bagged the other to help Coventry to maximum points against Shrewsbury.
