Frank Lampard lavished England's younger players with praise following the 2-2 draw with Ecuador on Wednesday night.
Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were among the players to impress in England's penultimate warm-up match for the World Cup, and Lampard admits that it was impressive to see the duo offer a different option in attack.
"That's what you want from the players," the 35-year-old told Sky Sports News. "That's what you're talking about with the young players, they give you that edge going forward.
"I think all of the front boys, in an attacking sense, had lots of good moments and showed some good stuff. It's a shame we didn't get more goals to finish them off and put them out of the game."
England were dealt a blow with the news that Oxlade-Chamberlain may have suffered knee ligament damage in the second half of the match in Miami.
