Chelsea are reportedly ready to hand a new two-year contract to Willian, going against their long-standing policy of only offering 12-month deals to players over 30.

Chelsea will reportedly offer Willian a new two-year contract, a move which goes against the club's policy of handing anything other than short-team deals to players over the age of 30.

Despite the playmaker's 54 appearances for the Blues last season, it had suggested that the Europa League winners remained against giving him anything other than a 12-month extension.

Chelsea's stance appears to have changed, however, with the club facing the prospect of being banned from signing new players for the next two transfer windows.

According to the Daily Star, the West Londoners are now happy to give Willian a contract which will expire at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

Reports have suggested that Callum Hudson-Odoi could follow suit by committing himself to Chelsea for the next five years.
