RB Leipzig reportedly face selling Timo Werner, an alleged target of Liverpool, for £44m if they do not win the Bundesliga title this season.

RB Leipzig must reportedly win the Bundesliga title in order to keep Timo Werner's release clause at its highest level.

Since the turn of the year, it has been suggested that the Germany international is available for £51m, a fee which has led to sustained interest in the 24-year-old.

While Liverpool are regarded as the clear favourites, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are also said to be monitoring the situation.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Werner's admirers have been handed a boost by the potential fluctuation in his exit clause.

The report says that the versatile attacker will be available for £44m if Leipzig do not win this season's Bundesliga title.

Ahead of a scheduled resumption next week, Leipzig sit five points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich in the table.
