Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is said to have become unhappy with Roberto Soldado's poor return since his signing for £26m last summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Levy is planning to sanction a £40m bid for Los Rojiblancos' striker after watching him emerge as one of the finest forwards in European football this term.
However, Spurs face competition from Chelsea for the Brazilian-born Costa, with the Blues pondering a similar move in the summer months.
