Chelsea have reportedly offered Fernando Torres in exchange for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
Cavani has established himself as one of the most sought-after goalscorers in Europe and the Blues have offered the Serie A runners-up a cash-plus-player deal for the Uruguayan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is thought that Torres may be interested in a move to Stadio San Paolo, following the arrival of his former boss Rafael Benitez on Monday.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has previously stated his unwillingness to sell the club's prized asset unless the player's €63m (£53m) buy-out clause is met.
Cavani finished the season as top scorer in Italy, with 29 strikes in total.
