Fernando Torres insists that he is ready for the challenge of new signings at Chelsea and wants to see out his contract at the club.

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has admitted that he finds it normal for his side to be linked with big players in the transfer window.

The Blues have been linked with big money moves for the likes of Falcao, Edinson Cavani and Christian Benteke.

However, despite the transfer talk, the Spaniard believes that he is ready for the challenge next season as he aims to secure a regular first-team place. The 29-year-old insists that he has improved at Stamford Bridge and want to see out his contract.

"It's Chelsea. Obviously, big players are linked with the club. It's normal, especially in this period of the year with the summer," Torres told reporters. "The places and names of players that every year [are linked] - we'll see what happens.

"There's no doubt about it [that I showed improvement towards the end of the season]," added the striker. "When the team improves and wins trophies, everyone individually improves. That's the case with this team, not just me.

"I signed a five-and-half-year contract, so hopefully I'll stay at Chelsea for at least five-and-half years. Maybe more, who knows."

Torres scored 23 goals in all competitions for Chelsea this season.
