Reading to complete Nathaniel Chalobah loan return?

Reading are moving closer to agreeing a deal with Chelsea to bring Nathaniel Chalobah back to the club on loan, according to a report.

Reading are reportedly hopeful of sealing a deal to bring Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah back to the club on loan.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season at Madejski Stadium, making 20 appearances and scoring once in all competitions.

Reports yesterday suggested that Jose Mourinho is willing to loan out the England Under-21 international again this year, and Get Reading claims that the Royals have opened talks over a deal for the midfielder to return to the club for a full season.

The report says that sources at Reading have insisted there is still 'work to do' before the move is confirmed, but Steve Clarke's side are growing increasingly confident that Chalobah will soon be back at the club.

There is room in Clarke's squad for the midfielder, with the Reading boss having allowed Hope Akpan to join Blackburn yesterday.
