Manchester City have reportedly identified Chelsea defender Reece James as a transfer target.
The 21-year-old impressed for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign, making 47 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and five assists in the process.
James was selected in the England squad for Euro 2020, meanwhile, and played the full 90 minutes of the goalless draw with Scotland on June 18.
According to The Athletic, Man City boss Pep Guardiola is a 'huge admirer' of the defender and wants to bring him to the Etihad Stadium in the near future.
However, the report claims that Chelsea have no interest in allowing James to leave, particularly to join a direct rival in the Premier League.
The Englishman has made 84 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, scoring three times and contributing eight assists in the process.
Man City also continue to be linked with moves for Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, who, like James, are currently representing the Three Lions at the European Championship.
