Romelu Lukaku pleased with Everton switch

Striker Romelu Lukaku admits that he is "glad" to have sealed a deadline-day move to Everton after starting the season on the bench at Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he is delighted by his loan move to Everton on transfer deadline day.

The Belgium international, who spent last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, started the season on the bench for Chelsea before boss Jose Mourinho decided to let him join the Toffees to gain further Premier League experience.

"I am very glad," Lukaku told Sky Sports News. "I read that some said I was not happy but I am very happy - this is a club that can bring me a lot, and I can bring a lot too.

"I still hope to grow and bring a lot to this team. I think at my age it is important to play a lot, I have a good relationship with the coach at Chelsea and I hope to have good results."

Lukaku scored 19 goals last season when he was on loan with the Baggies.
