Everton have reportedly enquired as to the availability Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on loan.
Lukaku is thought to be willing to stay at Stamford Bridge in order to fight for his place, but fears that the arrival of Samuel Eto'o could force him further down the pecking order.
With Fernando Torres also at his disposal, manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering sending Lukaku out on a similar loan deal that saw him pick up valuable first-team experience at West Bromwich Albion last season.
Everton have struggled for goals so far this season scoring just twice in their opening three games and failing to net in their last two league matches.
The Toffees have already signed Arouna Kone from Wigan during the transfer window, but the Ivorian is yet to start a league game for his new club as manager Roberto Martinez continues to stick with misfiring striker Nikica Jelavic.
