Frank Lampard says that his ambition to reach 100 caps for England will not have an influence on where he plays his club football next season.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has insisted that his ambition to reach 100 caps for England will not influence his future in club football.

The 34-year-old has picked up 94 caps for the Three Lions but is no longer guaranteed a place in the side following the emergence of players such as Jack Wilshere and Tom Cleverley.

Lampard, who scored the winner in England's 2-1 win over Brazil on Wednesday, is out of contract with the Blues in the summer, but is adamant that he will not base his club future on his international ambition.

"Wherever I go, whatever happens in my career - and I don't honestly know - if I can play at a great level of football and play at my best I will just see what happens.

"If I don't get to 100 caps I have given everything in every game I have played. When you get older you realise even more what it is to play for your country; that it won't go on for ever.

"Every time I am in and around the squad I will give my all, whether it is starting or on the bench. I have got a lot of respect for the manager and I think he respects that I want to help in any way that I can."

Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001.
