Mateo Kovacic says that it is "too early" to speak of a permanent switch from Real Madrid to Chelsea, despite admitting that he is enjoying life in West London.

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has revealed that he is 'really enjoying' life at Stamford Bridge but says that it is "too early" to talk of a permanent switch from Real Madrid.

Kovacic has spent the last three years in and out of the first team at the Bernabeu, but the Croatia international has played an important role for Chelsea during the early weeks of his loan spell in West London.

The 24-year-old has admitted that he is enjoying the competitive nature of the Premier League at a time when Chelsea sit just two points adrift of leaders Liverpool, but hinted that he was not thinking about his long-term future.

Kovacic is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying: "It's too early for these questions, I am here and very happy. [Playing regularly] is good, I'm a little bit tired. I was not used to playing every three or four games and here it is very tough football.

"You can't relax against anybody so it's a little bit difficult but I really enjoy it. We have a great team, great fans and the city is nice. I like it a lot here."

Kovacic has made eight start and two substitute outings in the top flight and the Europa League this season.
