The agent of Estevao Willian reveals future club Chelsea have a set plan in place for the newly-capped Brazil international.

Chelsea have a plan in place to move Estevao Willian into a different position, according to his agent.

During the summer transfer window, the Blues confirmed that they would be signing the Palmeiras star on July 1 next year in an alleged €57m (£48.1m) deal.

Although FIFA regulations have prevented the 17-year-old from moving to the Premier League until after his 18th birthday, with that has not stopped the prospect from starring in South America.

A total of eight goals and seven assists have been recorded in 21 top-flight fixtures, leading to his first-ever call-up to the Brazil senior squad.

Dorival Junior rewarded Estevao for his rapid progression with a debut for Selecao in the 1-0 victory over Ecuador on Friday night.

Positional change for Estevao?

In the 36 games that he has racked up in senior football, Estevao has spent the large majority of them being deployed on the right flank.

That is the position that he was used versus Ecuador, being introduced as a 62nd-minute substitute to take the place of Luiz Henrique.

However, as per agent Andre Cury, there are plans in place for Estevao to be used in an alternative role once he makes the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Cury said, as quoted by UOL Esporte: "He adapts to any style of play. Chelsea is a club that sees Estevão playing as a number 10.

"That is important. He can develop even more playing in the middle."

What are the potential ramifications for other players?

When Estevao signed a future contract to join Chelsea, it was widely reported that the West Londoners plan to integrate him into the first-team squad as early as 2025-26.

The same applies with Kendry Paez, another South American 17-year-old who can be used as a number 10 or on the right flank.

With Chelsea already possessing an array of more experienced options in those areas of the pitch, head coach Enzo Maresca could be left with far too many candidates for two positions on the pitch.

As it stands, there are six players - Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke - who can be used on the right flank or in a more central role.
