Achraf Hakimi reveals that he turned down the chance to join the Champions League winners Chelsea before signing for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Achraf Hakimi has revealed that he turned down the chance to join the Champions League winners Chelsea before signing for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The 22-year-old moved to Paris from Inter Milan in July for a fee in the region of £51.5m (€60m), putting pen to paper on a five-year deal.

Thomas Tuchel was understood to have been interested in signing Hakimi, however the Moroccan right-back decided to join PSG, whom he has described as a "dream team" to play for.

"I had two offers, one from Chelsea and one from Paris Saint-Germain. But I felt I had to come to Paris, that I would have been happy there," Hakimi told L'Equipe.

"PSG is a great club, I really appreciate the support the fans gave me straight away. I was lucky because so many other champions joined me. I feel good at PSG, we have a dream team and I'm happy to be a part of it."

Hakimi, who is known for being an attack-minded full-back, contributed to 16 goals across all competitions for Inter last season, and has already found the net three times in eight Ligue 1 appearances for PSG this term.
