Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has reportedly expressed a desire to sign for Chelsea this summer.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that the Blues were keen on securing the £30m transfer of the England international ahead of the new campaign.
The Foxes are unlikely to want to allow the 27-year-old to leave the King Power Stadium at this stage of pre-season, but according to The Mirror, Drinkwater is ready to tell his current club that he wishes to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.
It has been suggested that Blues head coach Antonio Conte was keen on Drinkwater last summer, when the West Londoners completed a move for his midfield teammate N'Golo Kante.
Chelsea are known to be in the market for another midfielder after Nemanja Matic and Nathaniel Chalobah left for Manchester United and Watford respectively.
Drinkwater has made 80 appearances for Leicester in all competitions over the past two years, helping the East Midlands outfit to the Premier League title and a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
