Borussia Dortmund have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech during the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old was a regular in the Blues XI in the games before the international break, starting against Southampton, Newcastle United and Malmo respectively.
However, with a number of players on the brink of returning from injury, the Morocco international is likely to spend more time on the substitutes' bench over the next six weeks.
According to Bild, Dortmund are anticipating such a situation and hope to use it to tempt Chelsea into allowing Ziyech to leave on a temporary basis.
The report claims that the Bundesliga giants have already made contact with the player's representatives regarding a potential loan switch until the end of the campaign.
In total, Ziyech has made 31 starts and 18 substitute appearances since linking up with the Premier League giants in July 2020.
