Chelsea could reportedly reignite their interest in Declan Rice during the January transfer window.
The Blues were strongly linked with the England international over the summer, but West Ham United allegedly signalled that they would not be prepared to sell the defensive midfielder for under £70m.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Rice remains a leading target for Frank Lampard's side, and the London giants are expected to return for the 21-year-old in the near future.
Chelsea could therefore make an attempt to sign the Englishman in the winter transfer window, although they are again likely to face serious resistance from West Ham.
Rice has not missed a minute of Premier League football this season and has captained the Hammers in three of their four league outings during the 2020-21 campaign.
The midfielder has a contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2024.
