Chelsea are reportedly ready to agree terms with Borussia Dortmund over a £70m deal to sign Christian Pulisic.
Pulisic has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the January transfer window, with Liverpool also thought to be interested in the USA international.
Chelsea are understood to be leading the race, and The Mirror reports that they have already held talks over a £70m deal.
The two clubs could reach an agreement as early as January, although Dortmund are refusing to let Pulisic leave in the middle of the season and would insist that he only makes the move to Chelsea at the end of the campaign.
Chelsea are eager to get the deal done early and would be willing to wait until next summer before Pulisic actually arrives at Stamford Bridge if it means they beat their rivals to the punch.
The 20-year-old will have just one year left on his contract next summer and Dortmund are looking to cash in on the youngster if they are unable to convince him to stay.
Chelsea, meanwhile, see Pulisic as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard, whose own contract also expires in 2020 amid repeated reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
