Chelsea reportedly make a fresh approach for Lyon's Moussa Dembele, despite the French side previously insisting that the forward is not for sale in January.

Chelsea have reportedly made fresh contact with Lyon regarding a potential deal for striker Moussa Dembele.

Despite expressing an interest in the Frenchman earlier in January, Chelsea were informed by Lyon that the 23-year-old was not for sale.

That seemingly led to the Blues targeting a move for Edinson Cavani, who has less than six months left on his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, with the Uruguay international more likely to join Atletico Madrid, The Sun claims that Chelsea have attempted to re-open discussions regarding Dembele.

The report suggests that the West Londoners are open to paying £45m for the former Celtic man - a slight increase to their previous bid of £43m.

Dembele has netted 11 goals from 19 outings in Ligue 1 during the current campaign.
