Chelsea are set to make an offer for Cesar Azpilicueta in a move that would end their search for a new right-back.

Chelsea are finally set to bid for Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta after a summer of speculation, according to reports.

French media sources claim that Azpilicueta is close to moving to west London as Chelsea continue to search for a new right-back.

The Blues are short of cover on the right side of defence since releasing Jose Bosingwa at the end of last season.

A number of options have been linked with Roberto Di Matteo's side, including Maicon and Gregory van der Wiel.

Azpilicueta has impressed in France and will get a further chance to attract admirers playing in the Olympic Games for Spain this summer.
