Saint-Etienne youngster Lucas Gourna-Douath has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Chelsea.
With Thomas Tuchel having recently replaced Frank Lampard, the German is expected to be handed a significant war chest for the summer window.
While Chelsea have been heavily linked with the likes of Erling Braut Haaland, it appears that the Blues hierarchy are also keen to add a less-proven prospect to their ranks.
According to Foot Mercato, Chelsea have been left impressed by the development of midfielder Gourna-Douath, who has broken into the Saint-Etienne first team this season.
The 17-year-old has already been provided with nine starts and 14 substitute appearances in Ligue 1, including the full 90 minutes when his side drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of 2021.
Chelsea are allegedly prepared to pay in the region of £23m for a player who has a contract at Saint-Etienne until 2023.
