Chelsea reportedly earn a £5m windfall after cashing in their clauses on Sassuolo playmaker Jeremie Boga.

Chelsea have allegedly boosted their coffers by cashing in their clauses from the transfer of Sassuolo playmaker Jeremie Boga.

The academy graduate made just one senior appearance during his time at Stamford Bridge, the then-youngster starting against Burnley on the opening day of the 2017-18 campaign before being substituted on 18 minutes due to a red card.

However, the Ivory Coast international has gone on to enjoy an excellent period with Sassuolo, the 24-year-old contributing 18 goals and 10 assists from his 100 appearances since July 2018.

While Chelsea were prepared to sell Boga to the Italian side for just £3.6m, it came with a number of clauses, including a buy-back option and a percentage of the money generated from his next move.

According to Goal, the West Londoners have instead opted to cash in on those options, bringing in approximately £5m in the process.

Boga is currently being linked with a move away from Sassuolo with Atalanta BC said to be keen on a deal.
