Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas reportedly tells his representatives to make contingency plans for a possible exit if he does not receive a contract extension.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is reportedly considering a move away from the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Spanish playmaker is yet to appear for Chelsea in the Premier League this term and has featured just three times across all competitions, with the arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic - coupled with the increased game time for Ross Barkley - limiting first-team opportunities so far.

Fabregas is understood to be open to extending his stay at Stamford Bridge, but he is yet to be given assurances over his long-term future with his current deal due to expire next summer.

Spanish outlet Sport reports that the 31-year-old has now instructed his representatives to make contingency plans for a possible exit, with clubs in the MLS and Spain thought to be monitoring his situation.

Fabregas, whose only start this season came in the Community Shield, has scored 21 goals in 185 appearances since joining Chelsea from Barcelona in 2014.
