Everton 'have to sign Romelu Lukaku permanently' to get Christian Atsu loan

Everton will have to sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal if they want to bring in Chelsea winger Christian Atsu on loan.

Everton will have to complete the permanent signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea to ensure the arrival of his Ghanaian teammate Christian Atsu on loan.

Chelsea loaned Lukaku to Everton last season, where the Belgium international helped guide the club to Europa League qualification with 15 league goals in 31 games.

According to the Daily Mail, Roberto Martinez is keen to sign the 21-year-old striker on a permanent deal, and then move to loan Ghana winger Atsu from Chelsea, because they are unable to loan two players from the same Premier League club.

Atsu, 22, was on his own season-long loan spell at Eredivisie side Vitesse last term, scoring five goals and assisting six.

Lukaku is also reportedly a target for Real Madrid, who will offer £20m for the player.
