Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo - linked with Chelsea and Liverpool - is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League.

Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League amid suggestions that both Chelsea and Liverpool are keen to sign him next year.

The 22-year-old has been an important player for the Catalan giants during the 2021-22 campaign, making 14 appearances in all competitions, but there has recently been speculation surrounding his future.

Araujo's contract at Camp Nou is due to expire in June 2023, and it is believed that discussions over a potential new deal with the Catalan outfit are not advanced.

A recent report claimed that both Chelsea and Liverpool are keen on the Uruguay international, who has made 52 first-team appearances for Barcelona since arriving from Boston River in 2017.

According to Sport, Araujo is 'extremely grateful' to his current club but is open to the idea of moving to the Premier League next year.

Barcelona are thought to be prepared to offer the South American a new five-year contract but could struggle to meet his wage demands amid their ongoing financial problems.
