Former Chelsea boss Gianluca Vialli thinks that Fabio Capello should be given the manager's job at Stamford Bridge.

Former Chelsea boss Gianluca Vialli believes that Fabio Capello is an excellent candidate to lead the club next season.

Caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo's contract is due to expire following tonight's Champions League final and there is great uncertainty as to whether he will remain in charge at Stamford Bridge beyond the match.

Vialli, who expressed his concern when Di Matteo was appointed on a temporary basis in March, believes that Capello's experience could provide the formula for success in West London.

"It's definitely a job he would love to be offered," Vialli told talkSPORT. "He's got his eyes on Chelsea.

"Capello is always someone who can lead you to success in the Premier League and in Europe. He's got the experience and the skill to do that."

Capello's son and lawyer Pierfilippo denied reports that the former England manager has held talks with Chelsea, but refused to rule out a possible move for his father to Stamford Bridge.
