Jose Mourinho: 'Ashley Cole on the bench against Arsenal'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reveals that defender Ashley Cole will begin the club's match with Arsenal on the substitutes' bench.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that defender Ashley Cole will not feature in his starting lineup against Arsenal on Monday night.

Cole returned to the Chelsea side for their Capital One Cup clash with Sunderland in midweek, but Mourinho has stated that Cesar Azpilicueta will return at the Emirates Stadium.

The 50-year-old told reporters: "Cesar Azpilicueta is fit. I play Branislav Ivanovic at right-back and Azpilicueta at left-back. From the beginning, Ashley Cole is not playing."

The England international has played just two matches for Chelsea since the start of November.
