Romelu Lukaku's agent is hopeful that his client will be given more opportunities under new Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo.

The agent of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has backed the dismissal of former Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Lukaku, 18, joined Chelsea from Anderlecht last summer, but he has made just six Premier League appearances this season.

Christophe Henrotay, however, is hopeful that Lukaku will be given a chance to shine under the new management.

"It cannot get any worse than under Villas-Boas. So it will only get better. But I do not know the plans of the new coach," Henrotay told Sportwereld.

"Roberto Di Matteo was the man who gave Romelu individual training. He knows him better than any of the coaching staff of Chelsea.

"Additionally, you can assume that a new coach will try other things in order to get his team winning. Then Romelu could be an alternative solution."

Lukaku has 15 Belgian caps to his name.
